Meta-Morphosis

This striking collection features two variations of a powerful skull composition, each crafted from an intricate arrangement of vibrant butterflies. The concept explores the beautiful paradox of life and death, using nature’s most delicate creatures to form one of its most enduring symbols.

The first piece presents the butterfly skull against a soft gradient background of pale yellow to mint green, while the second takes a dramatic approach with a dark, textured backdrop. Both feature ornate frames that mirror their respective palettes – one with colourful splashes, the other in dramatic black with baroque flair.

The butterflies, in vivid shades of pink, purple, yellow, green, and blue, transform the traditional memento mori into something unexpectedly beautiful, demonstrating how symbols of mortality can be reimagined through nature’s own cycle of transformation.
