Electric Flutter

“Electric Flutter” strips the butterfly back to pure outline, rendered entirely in glowing neon against a circular backdrop of bleeding, layered colour. The pink neon traces the wing shape with precision, sitting on top of loose, expressive splashes of red, green, and blue that bleed into the surrounding gradient frame. Lit or unlit, the piece holds its own – by day the abstract colourwork underneath takes centre stage, by night the neon glow takes over completely.

Where earlier pieces built the butterfly through sculpture and texture, this one strips it right back to light and line. The neon gives it a completely different energy – less organic, more electric, like the butterfly’s been rewired. It’s about stripping something delicate down to its simplest form and still finding beauty, proving the shape alone carries enough weight to stand on its own.
